Our tip for the use of Smart Home controls
Controlling infrared heaters via a smart home system is not only suitable for everyday use. Holiday homes or flats can also be perfectly controlled remotely and heated up in time. So it’s already comfortably warm when you arrive!
Do you already have a Smart Home control system?
Perfect. heatness® infrared heaters are designed to be compatible with any Smart Home system. That’s why they can be quickly and easily integrated into any existing system. Simply connect our infrared heaters to the existing connections (sockets, switches or similar) and you’re ready to go.
You don’t have a Smart Home system yet?
No problem. Together with our infrared heaters, you can quickly and easily bring the Homematic IP Smart Home System into your home. This not only gives you the option of monitoring the temperature remotely, for example, but you can also regulate it while you’re on the move. All you need is Internet access on site.
This is how smart heating is done nowadays: heatness® infrared heating and Homematic IP
With Homematic IP, heatness® offers intelligent control of your infrared heating system via digital thermostats as well as via a smartphone app while on the move.
So everything is taken care of! The temperature in the individual rooms can be conveniently set via thermostat or smartphone, and it is also possible to program the room temperature via the smartphone app. The thermostats can be mounted on the wall or simply laid down.
The infrared heaters with thermostat are controlled by radio, so there is no need to lay additional cables between the thermostats and the heaters. Depending on the connection option, the infrared heaters can be plugged into a socket with a switch-metering socket or connected to a switch-metering actuator in a flush-mounted or junction box.
Homematic IP for controlling heatness® infrared heaters via a socket outlet
Homematic IP for controlling heatness® infrared heaters via a flush-mounted actuator
The Homematic IP system for heatness® infrared heaters consists of the following components:

Access Point
The access point is responsible for controlling and connecting all Homematic IP devices and is required once per system. It is conveniently connected to the router via the network cable supplied, and set up is quick and easy via the Homematic IP app on the smartphone. Recently, convenient voice control via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant has become possible.

Wall Thermostat
The Homematic IP wall thermostat is responsible for measuring the room temperature and humidity. The set temperature can be adjusted manually on the wall thermostat without starting the smartphone app. The wall thermostat has a large display with white backlighting and is therefore easy to read. Mounting on the wall is flexible and simple using adhesive strips or screws. Important: For operation, the connection to a Homematic IP Access Point is required.

Switching Metering Socket
The Homematic IP switch-metering socket is responsible for switching plugged-in loads, such as heatness® infrared heaters, on and off. It also measures the energy consumption. Manual operation, i.e. direct switching on and off of the loads at the switch-metering socket at the push of a button, is also possible. Optionally, the switch-metering socket can be used to extend the range of the radio signal. Important: A connection to a Homematic IP Access Point is required for operation.

Flush-Mounted Switch/Measurement Actuator
Due to its small dimensions, the Homematic IP switching/measuring actuator is ideal for installation in a flush-mounted or junction box. Despite its compact design, it has a high switching capacity of up to 12 A continuously or 16 A briefly. It is therefore ideal for installation in a flush-mounted box behind a heatness® infrared heater. In addition, it allows the energy consumption to be measured. Important: A connection to a Homematic IP Access Point is required for operation.

Wall Switch
The Homematic IP wall switch enables Homematic IP actuators to be switched on or off via a radio signal at the touch of a button. They are thus ideal for controlling lamps. Important: A connection to a Homematic IP access point is required for operation.

Infrared and Light
Infrared heating and light – a perfect combination
Would you like to control your light easily and conveniently? Preferably in combination with infrared heaters? Then you’ve come to the right place: thanks to our simple and intelligent control options, you can conveniently control both your light and your infrared heaters via one system. And you can do this either directly via thermostats or light switches or via a smartphone app. Without getting up and, of course, also on the go!

Control heating and light with one system
With the Homematic IP system you can control both infrared heaters and lamps. To do this, you need the Homematic IP Access Point, which takes over central control of the individual devices. To control one or more heaters, you then need a thermostat in the room as well as suitable wireless switches to which the heaters are plugged in or connected.
A wall switch controls the lighting. This works like a light switch, it switches the connected lamps on or off at the touch of a button. Just like the heaters, the lamps must be connected to a suitable Homematic IP wireless switch. These wireless switches are available in a socket version and a version for installation in a flush-mounted or junction box.

Our tip for ceiling heating with light
The Homematic IP system makes it very easy to operate both heating and light on the same power connection. For this purpose, both the heater and the light are each connected with their own actuator. This is ideal, for example, if you want to replace a lamp with a ceiling heater with separate light.

Either use existing sockets…
If you already have sockets for the infrared heating and the light (e.g. floor lamp), you can use them straight away. Both the infrared heater and the lamp are each plugged into a switch-metering socket. The lamp is switched on and off via its own wall switch, the heater is controlled via a thermostat. In addition, both the lamp and the infrared heating can be conveniently controlled via a smartphone app.
… or connect the heater and light directly
If you would like to connect the infrared heating and light directly to the power lines, we also have the right devices for this. With the particularly compact switching/measuring actuators, the lamp and the heater can be controlled separately. The two actuators can be installed either in the meter box, a junction box or a flush-mounted box. If there is no space available, the heater can be suspended a few centimetres from the ceiling and the actuators for light and heater can be hidden behind it. For even more ambience, you can also install indirect LED lighting behind the heater in the case of suspended installation.
Control is then as usual via wall switches or thermostats on the wall or conveniently via smartphone app.

Our tip for controlling lamps
Of course, the various receivers can also be combined with each other for light control. For example, you can install the switch-measurement actuators for the ceiling lighting and plug the standard lamp into a switch-measurement socket. If both devices are controlled by the same wall switch, both lamps are switched on and off simultaneously.
If you use separate wall switches to control each lamp, you can decide whether to turn up the light on the ceiling or the floor lamp for your cosy reading corner.
Products for controlling heating and light
You can put together your personal Smart Home system for controlling light and/or infrared heating from the following products. Please note that one Homematic IP Access Point is required for each system. The heater is then controlled by a thermostat, the light is switched on and off by suitable wall switches. Depending on how the heaters or lamps are supplied with power, they require either a switch-meter actuator or a switch-meter socket.
Note: If you already have a Homematic IP access point for e.g. heating control at home, you do not need another one for the light. You can simply teach the necessary devices for light control to this access point. If, on the other hand, you only want to control the light intelligently via the Homematic IP system and do not yet have a Homematic IP Access Point, then you will need this one.
