The different sizes (M-XL) make it easy for you to find the optimal heater for every application or room. Below we introduce you to the world of glass infrared heaters and help you find a suitable model.

Infrared heater glass compared to ceramics and metal

Infrared radiation can be sent through a number of materials to eventually give off heat. Often these are glass, ceramic or metal. These are of course characterised by different properties. Ceramic is considered to be the material that can emit the heat most comfortably, while you are very limited in terms of design and also have to factor in more for the price.

Glass is somewhat less expensive and is characterised by the fact that it is very flexible in terms of its appearance. It can even be transformed into a mirror. Similar to this and other glass surfaces, glass infrared heaters are easy to clean and maintain, which is why they are also popular in the bathroom.

Infrared heater glass and metal differ significantly from ceramic models in that they heat up equally quickly and store heat just as well, but the emissivity of the ceramic version is better. In the case of metal or aluminium panels, a special coating ensures that the emission of heat radiation is particularly high.

Possible Applications

The application possibilities of infrared heating are as varied as the design. It adapts to the heating needs of every household instead of being in the way and requiring compromises. This type of heating is flexible, can be used in every household and can also be used as a complete heating system. But let’s take a closer look.

Supplementary Heating

In many cases, an infrared heating panel is used to provide additional heating for a specific area that the existing heating system is not able to heat sufficiently. It can be installed very quickly and easily in the respective area of the house or flat. From there, it provides pleasant warmth exactly where convection heating cannot reach.

Sole Heating System

But the infrared system is also suitable as the sole heater for the entire living space. With enough cleverly used and powerful panels, it is possible to generate heat from electricity. Due to the high efficiency of infrared heating in converting electrical energy into thermal energy, electric heating can be a favourable alternative to other heaters.

Use in the Bathroom: Mirror Heating

Infrared heaters are particularly popular in bathrooms, where there is often a need for additional heat. An inconspicuous and practical variant is the mirror heater. Mirror and heater in one, it heats the room and the surface of the mirror so that it cannot tarnish. In this case, a mirror surface is applied to the glass plate, which is needed anyway, and sealed accordingly.

Towel Rail in the Bathroom

Another field of application in the bathroom is the towel rail. This is where towels are dried and where you reach for fluffy and warm textiles after a shower or bath. Whoever thought that a pleasant shower ends as soon as you get out of the shower was wrong. Even infrared heating helps to turn the bathroom into a place of relaxation.

Size Chart and Required Wattage

The following table will help you choose the right heater. The heatable area is given for normally insulated rooms with a standard height of 2.5 metres. For better or less insulated rooms, the heatable room size may vary upwards or downwards.

If in doubt, we generally recommend going for the larger heater, as this will allow the desired temperature to be reached more quickly and increase comfort. A panel that is too small can only be compensated for with an additional one.

We would also be happy to calculate your individual heating requirements on request and provide you with a non-binding offer!

Heater Size Heatable Room Size* Dimensions Electrical Power
XL 15 m² 60 x 120 cm 800 Watt
L 10 m² 60 x 90 cm 600 Watt
M 7 m² 60 x 60 cm 400 Watt

*These details are based on a well-insulated room with a room height of 2.5 m.

Safety

Our infrared heaters comply with all applicable limit values. This safety is also confirmed by the radiation experts of the Seibersdorf Laboratories.

An infrared heater works best when it can emit its radiation freely and unhindered into the room. Therefore, the heater should not be covered during operation. Should this happen unintentionally, our heaters are equipped with built-in temperature sensors. These prevent the heating element from overheating and switch it off automatically. Especially for public buildings, we have provided our heaters with a sticker on the front to make it clear that the infrared heater must not be completely or even partially covered.

All our infrared heaters are splash-proof and meet protection class IP65. The safe use of our heaters in damp rooms is therefore possible without hesitation. If the heater is wired directly instead of with our supplied plug, an even higher protection class can be achieved.
